Ungrateful little bastard.

Well, what do you know. That cute, little, Iraqi boy who had both his arms blown off, 60% of his remaining body badly burned, and 13 members of his family killed in an American bombing raid at the beginning of the US war in Iraq, is now apparently angry at the United States!

--"I keep asking myself: 'Why are they bombing Iraqi people? What have we done to them?' I hoped that the pilot who hit our house would be burned as I am burned and my family were burned."--

That's it. Lock him up at Guantonimo and throw away the key!

Rush Admits He's an Addict
Of course, the really interesting part of this story is all the shit Limbaugh has said in the past, ripping on drug addicts and the "liberal apologists" who defend them by saying things like "they're sick" or "it's a disease".

If you can stomach reading the transcripts of this blow-hard, here are a couple (courtesy of Atrios) that deal specifically with his hypocritical feelings toward OTHER addicts.

One
And another. (This one is good, because Rush seems to defend fat people, but lambastes addicts.)
Atrios has got others around those if you want to scroll around and see more.

As Dr. Drew Pinsky said:
--I think we should wish [Limbaugh] well. Who wants this disease? It's the disease that comes upon [people] often accidentally. These are common medications that are prescribed. If you have a history of alcoholism or addiction in your family and you're prescribed that for a period of time, eventually that switch gets thrown in this disease, and you're off to the races. --

Yes, we should wish him well, as we're compassionate people (ie. damn liberal commies). But we should also remind both him and his midless minions of all the HATEFUL filth he's spewed at people suffering from the same "disease" over the years. An inteligent person could learn something from all this.

Phony Letters Home from Iraq
From a community that's always trying to outdo itself in the despicable act category, this one, as reported by Hesiod, is a new low by the right-wing war-mongers.

Atrios has a different link to the same story. Sick. Really sick.

Bush: "You're next, Red Cross"

Yes, don't be surprised when US warplanes begin bombing the Red Cross headquarters next week. They are now officially "on the side of the terrorists"--like anyone who opposed/opposes war in Iraq--after announcing that conditions at the US prison camp in Cuba are unacceptable.

What Really Happened...
Here's a good little site I just discovered. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/.

Among other things, there's a chart keeping track of how many deaths Bush has caused in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the article "Why Arabs Hate the US". Things the US govt doesn't want you to think about.

Wider Role in Iraq

Here's a development I didn't expect. Apparently, the Bush Regime is planning to take a more direct role in Iraqi reconstruction. Um...so, after overthrowing the existing government (okay...it wasn't a legitimate government, so we can let that go) and installing it's own, hand-picked puppet government, and then forbidding certain undesirable groups from being included in any future, "democratic" government, the Bushies have decided that's not enough.

What's next...installing Condi Rice as "The Queen of Iraq"?

Well, actually...if you read the CNN article, that's not too far off.

--The official, who called the plan a "new phase" in the rebuilding effort, said the White House is creating an Iraq Stabilization Group that would be responsible for handling the day-to-day administration of Iraq and be headed by National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, according to the official. --

God, guns, and...well, balls.

For those who don't know, Israel launched an attack into Syria today, supposedly against terrorist training grounds.

I'm watching CNN right now (Sunday night in Central Europe), and I can't believe my ears. The nerve...the absolute BALLS of the Israelis just never ceases to amaze me. Not too long ago, after Israeli helicopters had leveled several civilian apartments, I heard an Israeli spokesperson say "the disolution of the peace process is 100% the fault of the Palestinians." Well, just now, I heard something even more hypocritical...by quite a measure.

Syria, "concerned" that their nation was attacked today, called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

Dan Gillerman, the Israeli ambassador to the UN, just gave an indignant press conference expressed his "horror and shock" that the Security Council is meeting on the evening before the "holiest of Jewish Holidays." Wow...that's some balls. Um...Dan. Sorry to point out the obvious, but it was YOUR country that launched an attack into Syria today. If you don't like the timing...well...yeah.

It gets better though.

He just said "for Syria to call a security council meeting is like Osama Bin Laden calling a security council meeting after 9-11". Holy shit, the way Israelis can say such things with a straight face never ceases to amaze me.

Israel, of course, has nothing to worry about from the Security Council, since they can depend on the United States of Veto to vote down anything that could be seen as remotely critical of Israeli action. An official spokesman from the white house towed the typical party line and said "Israel has a right to defend itself", and "Syria is on the wrong side of the war on terror." I guess "the wrong side" is the side on the business-end of Israeli bomb strikes.

Dumb and Dumber

I don't know which is worse, that the "president" of the US wrote this crap or that his wife was stupid enough to share it publically.

--"President Bush is a great leader and a husband, but I bet you didn't know he is also quite the poet," she said. "Upon returning home last night from my long trip I found a lovely poem waiting there for me." --

The "great poem" she referred to? Well, take your pick. The idiot-in-chief actually wrote three.

Number one: "Roses are red/Violets are blue/Oh my, lump in the bed/How I've missed you."

Number two: "Roses are redder/Bluer am I/Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy."

And the finale: "The dogs and the cat, they missed you too/Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe/The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier/Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier."

Oh, and just in case you couldn't figure it out for yourself (and actually care), the article is kind enough to explain that, "Bush sometimes refers to his wife as a lump in the bed."

Interesting, since I sometimes refer to him as "the lump in the whitehouse".

(Thanks to Hesiod for the heads-up on this "news" story).
