The Big "Goof"
Well...file this under the Tell Us Something We DON'T Know heading.

The Bush II Intelligence Advisory Board has concluded that the blatant lie Bush used in his infamous speech last January was, in fact, caused by a "goof".

George W. Bush's "presidency" is a long list of goofs. Let's see...his "election": a goof. (The fact that several thousand Florida Voters--most of them black--were barred from voting because they'd "accidentally" been put on a list of convicted felons: also a goof). His use of the word "Crusade", just after September 11th: a goof. His "evidence" for war against Iraq: a goof. His "all major combat operations have ceased" statement: a goof. Denying that the "mission accomplished" banner was put up by his own people: a goof.

The world is a much more dangerous place than it was in January of 2001. The reason: a goof. The Goof's name is George W. Bush.

Limbuagh: "I was framed!"
In an apparent bid to reclaim ownership of the title, Personal Embodiment of Hypocricy, Rush Limbaugh--through his lawyer, yet again--is now claiming he has been "targeted" by his "political enemies".

The nerve of this guy never ceases to amaze me. Many "average" Americans are in prison for doing less than this guy, and he's complaining that he's being treated unfairly...not to mention how many times he's ranted and raved on the radio about the way drug addicts whine, and now he's doing it. Once again...all I can say is: typical.

Student Save Teacher after "the System" fails her.
Teacher Debbie Shultz had a restraining order against her estranged husband, but that didn't stop him from attacking her with a knife in her classroom; luckily, some of her students DID stop him.

Notice...if this guy'd had a gun, we'd be talking about another mass murder...Debbie AND her students would be dead (and probably her husband, too...since the cowards usually shoot themselves afterward). Lucky for everyone invovled, except the husband, I guess...he could have won this weeks NRA Sportsman Award.

World's largest Rogue State welcomes disarmament of smaller rogue state.
It wouldn't be a news day, if "President" Bush wasn't providing a living definition of hypocricy. Falling back on that tried-and-true method of calling the kettle black, Bush is once again talking about ANOTHER country's WMD.

Apparently, Libya has agreed to scrap it's WMD programs. Now if only the US would do the same.

As for Iraq and it's former dictator...I thought I'd beat a dead horse a little: I wonder if, when Saddam goes on trial for murder or genocide or whatever they'll charge him with, if his accomplises will be tried with him. I doubt it, since that would mean many key figures of the current administration ruling the US would be on trial.

If you want to see a picture of Saddam shaking hands with one of his key accomplises, click here.

Rush Limbaugh's Laywers Decry "Normal Treatment"
The State of Florida is requesting that Rush Limbaugh be treated like a normal criminal, and the infamous radio talk-show host is--through his lawyers--crying like the spoiled brat he is.

--"No citizen would wish these highly personal details to be held by minions of the state to finger through at their leisure. Nor would any sane person wish his medical diagnosis and medical prescriptions to be widely published on television shows, tabloid newspapers, Web sites and the like..."--

In other words, his laywers are saying, Rush shouldn't be treated to the kind of public abuse that he has perpetrated against other addicts in the past on his radio show.

Typical Conservative nutbag...he whines and whines about drug addicts getting special treatment, and he bitches and moans about "liberal lawyers" circumventing the law...and then when HE'S the drug addict, he goes straight for his lawyers to insure special treatment.

Ex-dictator of Rogue State captured...
Citizens of world's largest Rogue State celebrate while their own illegally-installed "leader" smiles smugly.

Well, all the progress we'd made in the past few months, getting people to see that Bush-n-Blair's War was a war based on lies flew out the window on Sunday, when Saddam Hussein was captured and the English-speaking world media got down on its knees to felate George Bush faster than you could say "Monica Lewinsky".

Nevermind that we now know this man posed ABSOLUTELY no threat to the rest of the world...Americans are still celebrating as like V-E day all over again.

Nevermind that Saddam's capture does nothing to bring credibility to the LIES used to start the war...the media is vehemently proclaiming every quarter hour that it's a resounding victory and vindication for Georgie.

It's really sad to see the way people are celebrating this like it's some huge victory. It's a testament to how sickeningly-well the Bush administration's propoganda on the American public has worked...they actually BELIEVE that Saddam and Osama--two sworn enemies--are working together, and that capturing one is tantamount to capturing the other. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if 55% of the American public believes Saddam and Osama are THE SAME PERSON!

News FLash, here people...and I mean REAL news: Saddam had NOTHING to do with September 11th (even Georgie Bush II had to admit that, but I'm sure you didn't see the soundbite on FauxNews). Saddam posed NO THREAT to you in your comfortable home and gas-guzzling SUV's, or even on vacation in Europe. He didn't have WMD and he wasn't building The Bomb.

Yes, he was an evil tryant who illegally seized power and brutalized his country, making a formerly rich and prosperous nation a poor and isolated one and raising one minority to power at the expense of all others. But he was no threat to you.
Now, if you want to talk about ANOTHER man who illegally seized power, rapidly took his country from a beloved and respected nation to the ultimate Rogue State, and caused the deaths of thousands of people in the process...well, you might have a case there. After all, members of his own administration were PERSONALLY involved with Saddam back when Saddam was gassing his own people (if I had time here, I'd link to the now famous picture of Rummy shaking hands with Saddy).

To sum up. Saddam was not a threat to the world...he was a former dictator, now fugitive. If the Iraqi people he brutalized want to celebrate his downfall, that's great. Here's to them. People half-way around the world throwing "We Got Him" parties and making T-shirts, though, is just pathetic.
Osama IS a threat to Americans (and most everyone) everywhere. He has NO ties to Saddam and capturing Saddam doesn't hurt him at all. It's been more than 800 days since Georgie said we'd capture Osama.
George Bush II and his regime are a threat to World peace and make the world more dangerous for Americans (and most everyone) nearly every day. He's pulled the US out of several major world treaties (Kyoto; the World Court) and waged war against world opinion...ie, he's made the US, by his own definition, a Rogue State.

The government and media wake up and smell the...oil.
Alternate Title: this just in from the "No Kidding" department:

We crazy, liberal, pinko hacks have been reporting this since Haliburton was first given the key to Iraq's oil fields, and now the US media and at least a part of the government have picked up the story: Haliburton is gouging anyone and everyone they can to make a buck.

And this just in from the "Who gives a rat's ass" department: Around 200,000 computers, working for around eight years have discovered the largest known prime number. Um...yeah...that's a great use of technological resources, isn't it.

An Actual terrorist is on trial in the US (part 2)
Eric Rudolf, the man who is believed to be behind bombings at the 1996 Olympics, as well as several at women's health clinics and a "gay" nightclub is going on trial in Alabama, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for him.

Once again, I'll futily point out the fact that if the media reported this with the same rules they do stories from other parts of the world (ie, Arab or Mulsim ones), they would point out numerous times that Rudolf is a "Christian" radical, a "Christian" terrorist, and/or a "Christian" fundamentalist.

A Mother's Courage
Here's a striking story about a woman whose son is fighting in Iraq. She proudly wears the "support our troops" button he sent her from Iraq at protests and rallies around town, trying to bring her son home alive.

Not surprisingly, the response from the pro-war crowd has been profoundly unAmerican.
--For her on-the-streets stance, she has been yelled at, told to "Get a job," and branded a "traitor."

Vicky says that when she told one angry grandmother she hoped her grandson stationed in Iraq would get home safely, the woman responded, "Well, I hope your son dies!"--

She's not backing down, though. "I felt like I have to do it. I would never be able to forgive myself if -- God forbid -- something happened to my son and I had just sat here and done nothing."

A real turkey holding a fake turkey
If you didn't already hear this story, it's a real doosey. Misleader.org has a great article about "president" Bush serving up a fake turkey for reporters in Iraq. I guess Bush will come out and say "Well, MY people didn't put the fake turkey in my hands...I guess the boys in Iraq did it themselves", like he tried to do with the "Mission Accomplished" banner with his infamous the-war-is-over speech. The article has a nice recap of that denial, which was subsequently rebuffed by Bush's own administration. ("Um...actually, Mr. President...we DID put the banner there...um, and actually, Mr. President...you colored it with crayons yourself, remember?")

It's hard to be surprised, though...everything about the "surprised" trip to Iraq was a stunt for the media...why shouldn't the turkey have been fake, too.

Oh, and I just found out that Hesiod has the heads up on this article which talks about how most troops at the airport in Iraq got screwed out of dinner because they were not hand-picked to be a welcoming audience for the "president". Oh yeah...and the source is Stars and Stripes, by the way.
